Tired of Poor Cell Phone Reception Indoors? Fix It Today!

We often hear the words, "Hello... Can you hear me now?" Such sentences are not music to our ears, and one just doesn't like facing such situations on the phone.

Most people face signal issues when making a call indoors. This is one of the major problems why people are not often satisfied with their cellular service providers.

There are many reasons and solutions to the problem. One of the major reasons for poor signal reception indoors is because it is 'indoors'. Houses today are very cluttered. There is no space for the signals to travel properly. They are also often not able to penetrate through a building's walls, because of the materials that are used to make them. Signals are prone to such interference and can be highly affected by certain metals.

The solution can often be simple, and that is to go outdoors. Not just the reach, some other factors might also affect your signal reception. For example, the positioning of your cell phone can be one of the causes. The correct position depends on the positioning of your cell phone's antenna. Make sure your hands do not cover your cell phone antenna for good reception.

In certain cases software issues can also affect signal reception. Such cases are rare but with the introduction of new and latest firmware regularly, outdated software can also cause the signals to drop. In certain scenarios removing firmware, deleting software, or booting the phone can help.

At times all that you need to do is restart your phone. It is recommended to switch off your phone daily for at least 5 minutes a day. It helps the phone reenergize. Since most the people have their phones on 24/7, it often becomes difficult for the phone to revitalize itself. A simple restart can help the phone connect to the signal waves.

One of the technical solutions to this problem is the installation of a signal booster or repeater. This method can be cost-effective but it has great outcomes. A signal repeater can increase the signal greatly by installing an antenna outside the building. The antenna is mostly fitted on the roof as to give it maximum reach. The antenna is connected with a wire into a basic unit that sends signals inside the house or office.

A booster can enables employees to make calls easily by improving signal reception indoors. It is a small cellular base station that has a radius of 60 to 150 feet, making it ideal for most houses. It connects to the service provider's network using the internet and can support up to four cell phones at a time in a residential setting. Enterprise settings allow it to support 16-20 phones for a little extra charge.

Now that you know about signals and the reasons that cause poor signals and your calls to drop; hopefully you'll overcome these pitfalls and improve your poor reception by installing one of the techniques given above to improve your poor signal reception.

Weather That Kills Cell Phone Signals

It is a known fact that weather conditions can affect the quality of calls you make. Extreme weather conditions have the power to affect your device's performance. Some of the weather conditions that can adversely affect your signal reception are:

Heat

Extreme temperatures are not good for any cell. Extreme heat can disable your cell from picking up signals properly. The radio waves that make up the cell signals get distorted or often totally lost due to the extreme temperature. Very hot weather can even cause the battery to leak.

Quoting Motorola's warning here, "A car's internal temperature can exceed 80 degrees Celsius, and the temperature of a dashboard with direct exposure to the sun can exceed 120 degrees Celsius."

The statement highlights how dangerous extreme heat is not just to the signals, but also to your cell phone. Make sure you keep it in a proper atmosphere - away from heat, fire, and direct sunlight.

Cold

If heat can affect your phone - so can cold. Through research, it has been proven that extreme cold can affect a cell phone's ability to catch signals properly. It can also destroy its components and cause greater damage in the long run.

A study at the Environ Laboratories in Minneapolis showed the adverse affects that cold temperature can have on cell phones and their performance. According to the result, the screen started to dim at 10 degrees Fahrenheit. As the temperature started decreasing, the conditions only worsened. At minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit, some phones experienced battery issues with signals also dropping. And at minus 40 Fahrenheit most of the phones just could not perform and shut down.

The best way to combat such weather conditions is to cover your cell phones in a piece of cloth and to not put it in an open atmosphere.

Storms and Lightning

Storms add moisture to the air, which heavily distorts cell reception. Network companies have failed to come up with a fool-proof solution to this problem, as lightning and thunderstorms are not in their hands. Such adverse conditions can affect your cell's ability to receive signal for a short span of time. Such effects are temporary and go away once the weather is back to normal and the moisture is absorbed from the atmosphere.

On the other hand, lightning also causes poor signal reception as it discharges particles into the atmosphere that interfere with signal waves.

Rain and Humidity

As per many researchers and cell phone resource journals, a cell's ability to receive signals can be affected by humidity. Signals find it difficult to travel when the atmosphere is humid. A little moisture is okay for the signals, but heavy showers can hugely affect signals and cause poor reception.

These are the weather conditions that can affect your cell phone's ability to catch signals and cause poor reception. Remember to always refer to your cell phone manufacturer's guidelines in order to find out the best working conditions and improve signal reception, to have a smooth experience and prevent malfunctions. In many cases using a signal booster can increase coverage in adverse weather conditions.

Cell Phone Lookup - How to Reverse Search a Mobile Phone Number

A reverse cell phone lookup is simply a process of finding someone's name, address and other related information by their cell phone number. There are a lot of websites on the Internet offering reverse cell phone searches. Some of them claim to be free, others require a small fee before you can access background information about a particular mobile or unlisted number. There are also directories that combine land line, cellphone and unlisted number listings - providing an all-in-one people search service.

Clearly, everyone would like to access this info for free and for this reason there are many websites that try to capitalize on this notion by running various scams. You should be very careful not to click on any of such websites unless you are 100% confident about their legitimacy. You may pick up a computer virus before you even know it.

To do a reverse mobile phone lookup you need to use a trusted directory service. While there is no national cell phone directory available in the USA due to various privacy concerns, there are specialized directories used by private detectives, journalists and anyone from suspicious spouses to bounty hunters to help in their business. These companies invest a lot of time and financial resources in compiling mobile phone numbers into huge data sets by using both private and public sources, as well as major cell phone carrier restricted databases.

The entire process of finding someone by cellphone number is very straightforward - all you have to do is enter the phone number you are trying to track down and hit the "Search" button. If the number is included in the directory, you will be able to view basic identifying information such as the phone owner's name, age, mobile provider, billing address, previous addresses and more.

Some cellphone directories like the one referenced below can be used to search both mobile and listed / unlisted residential numbers. You can also request a detailed background check that may include criminal and divorce records, if any, and more.

Visit www.CellPhoneLookup.com for more information and an instant reverse phone lookup.

Emergency Cell Phones For Teens

As a parent of teenagers, one of the challenges that you will face daily is worrying about your children; their whereabouts and most especially their safety. More often than not, parents often worry that if an emergency happens, they would be unable to reach their children immediately or vice-versa. Since most children these days are driving a second hand car, parents constantly worry that the car could break down at any time or a road accident might happen. To address their worries, parents now realize that the only way for their children to contact them in case of any emergency is through the use of a cell phone.

Mobile phones are a fantastic way to get in touch with one another, especially in emergency situations; However, cell phones aren't cheap, especially traditional contract plans. It would be quite unrealistic and expensive for parents to get their teenagers separate contract plans just for an emergency. Another downside is that there is always the possibility of one of the kids racking up expensive non-emergency related phone calls or text messages on the phone. In which case, the parents have to pay all those outrageous over the minute charges or suffer having a blow on their credit score. Being teenagers, well, let's just say that it is kind of hard to trust their judgment entirely on what is an emergency call and what is not.

More parents are now realizing that there is indeed a way to get their teenage kids a phone without having to risk paying huge monthly fees. The answer is prepaid cell phones. With the use of prepaid cell phones, parents can get each of their children cell phones with corresponding prepaid minutes. That way, the teenagers can simply leave the cell phone in their glove compartment and forget about it until an emergency situation arises. Younger kids can each have a cell phone handy in their backpacks as well for emergency cases, situations where they need to contact their parents, or call for help immediately.

Prepaid phone plans are a fantastic solution to the parents' problems because parents are able to control the minutes that they buy for their kids. With prepaid plans you pay for minutes before you use them. That way there are no surprises at the end of the month. How convenient is that? With prepaid plans there are no hidden fees, no hidden charges, and no over minute fees. The children kids can use up the minutes when they need to and the parents just reload the minutes every month.

Prepaid phones are a sure fire way to make sure that your children can contact you in an emergency situation without having to worry about any bills or huge fees. Indeed, prepaid cell phones are the way to go if you want a no frills phone, reliable service, and an inexpensive service plan without paying outrageous amounts of money.

Cell Phone Number Reverse Look Up Services

Whether you have thought about using a cell phone number reverse look up or you have actually used the service, it is a convenient way to obtain more information about the person or caller behind that number.
We all have our reasons for wanting to know answers about "who is calling". It could be that the number keeps calling our phone and it is bordering on harassment. Another reason could be that you have a suspicion that the caller is trying to reach your wife or husband and you want to get information about the caller. The most important thing to you at that very moment is to find out who is behind the phone number by any means possible.

You can use a free cell phone number reverse look up by simply typing the number you want more information about into your search engine. What you will see is the location of the caller, usually the country, state and city. You may also learn who the cell phone provider is, but that is the extent of the information that you will discover.

The reason that a free phone number reverse look up does not yield extensive results is because the information is not publicly listed in any directory. The cellular phone provider has all of the information that you would like to access, but they are not going to release it to just anyone because of legal privacy issues.

A paid search will provide you with many details regarding the caller, including their name and address, their employer, their current income, their date of birth and age, where they resided prior to their current address, and sometimes previous employers. Most of this information is given freely by the person who owns the cell phone when they fill out their contract to obtain a cell phone.

Sites that offer cellular phone number reverse look up for a fee purchase the information that you want to know from cell phone providers. They then provide the information to you once you pay the required fee, which may be a one-time fee, a monthly fee or even an annual fee, depending upon how often you want to use the service. The information is often organized in a large data base and is updated regularly in order to ensure that you are receiving the most up to date information that you can access online.

You can easily find information online about someone just by entering their phone number at Reverse Phone Detective.

How Can I Find Someone's Cell Phone Number?

It is impossible to find someone's cell phone number using traditional traditional methods of finding phone numbers. This is because cell phone numbers are protected by strict privacy laws. Because of these laws, cell phone numbers are not released to the public. Just up until recent new changes in privacy laws, cell phone number directories have been restricted to officers of the law and other licensed investigators.

Not too long ago, if you wanted to find a person's cell phone number, you would have to hire a private investigator. These private investigators would charge up to $200 just to lookup one person's cell phone number. This price seems quite ridiculous, but it's true that thousands of people have paid this much to find someone's cell phone number.

The great news is, because of these new changes in privacy laws, once restricted cell phone directories now allow you access to find someone's cell phone number. However you need to know that cell phone numbers are still protect in some way and cellular phone number not released publicly. Therefor you must pay a fee for cell phone directory access. This fee is small and is definitely worth the price if the information is important to you.

In actuality, there are only a few cell phone directories where you can find someone's cell phone number by name. The National Cellphone Number Registry is perhaps the most popular cell phone directory and is also the same cell phone directory used by law enforcement and private investigators.

The Cell Phone Guide for Newbies!

Is this a reason why we must sell cell phones now?

Because of the massive effect of cell phones in the modern days, cell phone users seem to be ignorant when it comes to setting boundaries. In this article, we hope that people will be enlightened and guided in the most appropriate way of using their cell phones especially in public places.

1. Turn down the ringer. It is prescribed that you lower the volume of the ringer when you are in a public setting. Better yet, if you are in doubt, turn it into mute mode. But if you can't afford to miss a call, I suggest you just put your cell phone into vibrate mode so that you can feel is there is a message to be read or an incoming call. The key is that you will not distract others especially if you are in a theater or in a meeting.

2. Choose ringtones that you will not regret. We love to personalize everything on our phones i.e. the wall paper, the playlist, and our ringtones. This is definitely a hit especially if you own a smartphone. On smartphones, you can choose what song you would like to play when there is a call. But you have to choose your ringtone wisely, or you will forever say goodbye to a good impression on you. Do not choose a ringtone that isn't right for your age, or professional background. Choose a simple one, instead. Or just sell old phones online: That's a better choice!

3. Don't yell while talking on the phone. If the call is choppy or static, better hang up. It's not necessary to turn up the volume of your voice. For some reasons, a lot of users talk on the phone as if they are arguing with the person on the other end of the line. You see, talking too loud will not make the experience enjoyable. Not to mention, the receiver will only find you too brash for a casual phone conversation.

4. Do not talk too loud if others can hear you. Even if you are not talking about a personal or private matter, try to maintain a distance from the nearest person in the area while attending to the call. To be safe, find a quiet area where you can talk comfortably.

5. Don't text and drive at the same time. This tip/warning/reminder bears repeating: Many people DIE of car accidents because of irresponsible driving. Which is more important? Your life and your car? Or the call? Set your priorities straight!

6. Excuse yourself before taking the call. When there is an incoming call, do not forget that you also have the company you are with. Excuse yourself graciously and take the call. Keep it short so as not to send the message that the call is more important than the person you are presently with.

What are you waiting for? Do not commit these cell phone faux pas! Sell used phones at cashforsmartphones.com!

5 Reasons Why a Cell Phone Pouch Makes Great Sense

If you are in the market for a new wallet or cell phone case, consider a stylish alternative that eliminates bulk by combining the two. A cell phone pouch is an affordable option for men wanting to look their best and keep their valuables both secure and easy-to-access. Designed as a front pocket wallet, a new cell phone pouch makes perfect sense for your next purchase. Here's why.

Carry it all in one place.

Looking for a convenient way to carry your cell phone and wallet items without misplacing either in the process? Cell pouches are a great way to consolidate the everyday items you need with you when you're on the go. With one in your pocket, you can securely carry:

- iPhone, BlackBerry, or other Smartphone

- Bank cards, credit cards, or store cards

- Cash and pocket change

- Drivers' License or other I.D. card

Be prepared for phone upgrades.

With the phone pouch, you won't have to worry about fitting your new phone when you are ready for an upgrade. Made with elastic sides that adjust to your iPhone, BlackBerry, or other cell phone, this front pocket pouch will securely fit most phone models now and in the future.

Stay stylish and comfortable.

A cell pouch will always keep you in style no matter your dress. You'll also lighten your pockets and alleviate the strain on your back. Finding a front pocket style can make sitting more comfortable and prevents damage to your phone.

Keep valuables safe and secure.

Quality cell pouches can keep your iPhone, BlackBerry or other Smartphone in place. Look for a model that has a zippered section so you can store cash and coins. Finding a front pocket design will also help you keep your valuables out of the reach of pickpockets. In addition, using a cell phone pouch rather than holding your smartphone in your wallet will protect it from expensive scratches on the glass screen.

Free your pockets from change.

How much change accumulates in your pocket on a daily basis? Are your pockets so shallow that it falls out when you sit down? You can avoid the jingling pockets and store your coins in the zippered portion of your new cell phone pouch. It will stay put throughout the course of the day, and then it can easily be emptied each night into your change jar. Talk about an easy way to save!

Cell Phone Accessories: Achieve Balance Between Fashion and Function

Cell phones have changed the way people communicate with each other. Most people now rely on these gadgets as their main communication system. Even with simple things like setting a date or appointment, it has also altered the way people do these things. Nowadays, people do not set a specific place where they would meet up anymore. Instead, they would just say, "Hey, see you in the shopping mall!" And it would be understood that once you get to the mall, you would ring or text the person you're meeting and tell him/her your exact location so you can see each other.

As much as cell phones have proliferated around the market, so have mobile phone accessories. Accessories for cell phones come in two kinds. The first type is the practical function type of accessory like chargers, batteries, Bluetooth devices, headsets, holsters, belt clips, a cell phone case or cover, and so on. The other type is for fashion purposes. This includes ribbon or jewelry lanyards, bling kit, charms, and so on. When buying mobile phone accessories, it is very important that you are able to strike a balance between form and practicality so that you will invest your money into good use. Here are some ways to do that.
Add zest to practical devices

If you're buying batteries and chargers because you need them to make cell phone usage more convenient for you, that's a very good idea. But if you want to spice things a little, you can add glamor and style to these accessories by decorating them. For example, you can put bling stick-ons on the surface of your portable charger. This would not only make it look more stylish but also make it easier for you to recognize your portable charger.

Buy fashionable accessories that have practical function

If your main reason for buying mobile phone accessories is to make your cell phone look fashionable, it is important that you don't only look at the style aspect of the accessory but also at its function. For example, if you intend to purchase a cell phone case and you come across two options: one that looks nice and is waterproof and one that is overly chic but is too flimsy to provide any kind of protection for your phone. What would you choose? The former is obviously the smarter option. Even if the accessory looks classy and stylish, if it won't do anything good for your cell phone, it won't be a good purchase.

Aside from achieving balance between fashion and function, you also need to find a reputable online store that will give you efficient service and high quality products. To do this, ask family and friends for recommendations. You can also browse the web and do quick background checks on your choices. Read online reviews, get in touch with Better Business Bureau, and read general product reviews to find out more about a store's reputation. Don't forget to check if the store is secure as well. It should have a secure payment system that will not expose your confidential information to hackers and identity thieves.

Learn More About Mobile Phone Insurance

Although most of us don't hesitate to insure a vehicle even when its value is next to nil, few of us think to insure that expensive and indispensable item on which we rely for our most basic functionality: our cell phones. Mobile phone insurance is inexpensive, and protects the item we probably value above nearly everything else.

Given the multiple functions and capabilities of our smart phones, we use them now as we used to use our computers, address books, day planners, photo albums, and more. All those functions, and the accompanying data, mean that we're entirely at loose ends when a phone is lost or damaged. The data can be "insured" by backing up contact information, photos, and other stored items, either syncing with a desktop computer or storing in the internet "cloud" for retrieval from multiple devices. The phone itself, though, is something you need in daily life, and mobile phone insurance can ensure that you won't find yourself without it. Just a few Pounds per month can assure you of the protection of your equipment--the phone itself as well as its accessories like the protective cover, Bluetooth earpiece, and gadgets like add-on credit card scanners or other plug-ins.

Particularly if you use your mobile phone for business purposes, there's no excuse for being without cell phone insurance to protect your business investment. More and more people these days do business from a mobile phone. Its convenience allows for all manner of client communications--not only telephone calls, but text-message marketing, email responses, and mobile apps designed for use by your customers or clients.

You can be available to your clients around the clock and throughout the week, knowing that when they call your business number, you can pick up the call regardless of where you are at the moment. With the simple addition of a card-reader and selected mobile apps, your phone can serve as cash register, computer, accountant, bank account manager, Rolodex, and more. You can update your business website; manage shipping and tracking and inventory of products. Now imagine if your phone was damaged and you didn't have the immediate resources to replace it. A few pounds per month is a negligible amount to invest in the protection of your primary business tool.

In selecting a provider of mobile phone insurance, your best bet is to avail yourself of the information system of a comparison service, which can prevent you with the various coverage options and their prices. Look into the variety of types of coverage--some of which can be extended to include laptops, tablets, or other mobile devices as well as your cell phone and its accessories--and compare the pricing plans offered by the various companies and their individual plans. You can assure yourself of finding the best value of mobile phone insurance with such a comparison service, and then link to the actual insurance provider to begin your mobile phone insurance.

Use a comparison service to shop for mobile phone insurance, ensuring that you can find the most cost-effective plan to cover your mobile phone and its accessories, as well as laptops, tablets, or mobile devices.

Mobile Phone Tracking - The Pros And Cons

Modern mobile phones come with many different features and apps, they fill a whole host of services and one of the most useful and adaptable of these is the built-in GPS navigation service. This allows you and others to pinpoint your location giving the exact coordinates and quite often your direction and speed.

There are a number of ways you can check the location of a mobile phone. One is to access the location via the internet, the mobile number is input into the system and the program sends out a signal to check the location. There are also various companies that allow customers to download programs that allow them to check on a mobile phone's position live online.

Like any system there are pros and cons to the use of mobile phone tracking and while modern technology can lead to peace of mind and increased safety, concerns can also be raised such as the misuse of mobile phone technology as the recent journalist outrages show.

Pros

These straightforward to use and easy to access tracking packages make it great for keeping an eye on kids and elderly relatives. You are able to see whether they are where they say or if they have gone off on some unexplained walkabout.

There are many mobile network providers and private companies that have simple programs that enable you to track your mobile. They make it easy for people to link up and find each other, for instance when they are in a strange city or on holiday.

Knowing where your phone always is means never having to lose it again. You will always be able to locate its position and not be pulling your hair out trying to remember the last place you saw it.

Cons

Look into a variety of providers to find the best deals and services available. Not all mobile phone tracking systems are cheap and some may not provide the kind of coverage or features you require.

You are not legally allowed to simply track anyone, they have to be informed first. So if you wanted to secretly follow your spouse or work colleagues you will find yourself in trouble if you proceed. The present scandal with journalists abusing phones shows just how easy it can be to hack into other peoples' phones to read messages or check on their whereabouts.

Current legislation only covers the country that the phone is registered in, so legally you cannot use mobile tracking if you are traveling abroad. You will need a contract for the particular country you are visiting.
Always intrigued by new developments in technology, Alex likes to try out and write about new gadgets and software packages. When some of his fishing gear was stolen he decided to fit the replacement items with GPS trackers and also noticed many new uses of mobile phone tracking during his research.

All About Cell Phone Batteries

There's a plethora of new mobiles that are being introduced to the market these days. While every handset highlights the features of the phone, rarely does anyone lat stress on the quality or strength of the battery.

However, the fact remains that the batteries are one of the most important components of a mobile phone.

More than being a convenience, a mobile phone has become a necessity in the world of communication and business these days. We often take it for granted that we can receive or make a phone call to anywhere in the world. But that can hardly be achieved if we don't have a powerful battery in our mobiles. The type and size of the mobile battery has a great bearing on the weight, size and most importantly, the performance of the mobile. While mobiles have considerably reduced in size over the years, their batteries too have kept pace.

Of course, there are as many cell phone battery configurations as there are mobile phone manufacturers. The real distinction, however, depends upon the technology and material used to bake the batter cell of the mobile phone.

Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) batteries were the first batteries to be widely used in mobile phones. These batteries comprised the ability to recharge and were relatively small in size. They still had enough efficiency to offer an effective performance. The batteries were inexpensive but suffered from a memory effect, which means that if the battery wasn't completely discharged ahead of recharging, a memory would be created.

This usually led the battery to stop performing even if it had some residual power in it. This was undeniably a great inconvenience and certainly not cost-effective. Most used and discounted cell phones have this battery.
The Nickel metal Hybrid (NiMH) batteries were a variation of the NiCd batteries and only excluded cadmium from its constituents. Cadmium is a heavily toxic chemical and had disposal problems as well.

These were eliminated in NiMH batteries which had a scant memory effect.

Of late Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) batteries have become the most popular in mobile phone technology. These batteries are light, powerful and small and have no memory effect. Almost all high-end phones and many discounted cell phones as well have this battery. The cost is the only drawback of these batteries but they make up as regards their performance and size. These batteries have been found to be compatible with discounted and used cell phones.

Lithium Polymer (Li-Polymer) batteries are the newest type of mobile phone batteries being produced these days. Most recent smartphones have this battery. But used or discounted cell phones rarely work with these types of batteries. They are quite rare but an increasing number of mobile phone manufacturers are using Li-Polymer batteries in their handsets.

A fully charged battery is vital for the performance of your mobile phone, regardless of whether you have a new handset or a used and discounted cell phone. Make sure that you discharge the battery completely ahead of recharging it.

Select from the best cheap cell phones, attractive mobile phone deals, cheap handsets & economical call plans.

Trending Cell Phone Accessories

Around the world, millions and millions of people own cell phones, but there are only so many models available! If you want yours to look different, you have to make it stand out from the crowd. For this reason, you'll want to buy a protective case that reflects your personality and tells people whose phone it is. Of course, this case has to protect the phone from scratches, or from dropping it, but there are many options to choose from which successfully perform both functions.

Silicone skins are a great way to give your phone a distinctive look. They come in many patterns, from the basic single tone look to flashier patterns with multiple colours. They make it easy to get a firm grip on your phone, but they are sleek and take up hardly any space. Your phone won't get scratched when it's in one of these. It provides decent protection in case you accidentally drop it, and all for an extremely affordable price. This is popular among the younger cell phone users, but it's appropriate for anybody.

Snap on covers are clear, plastic cases that fit right on. They're sleek, inexpensive, and they show the cell phone for what it is. They protect well against scratches, and it's especially good should your cell phone take an accidental tumble.

Getting a leather case is another smart way to protect and stylize your phone. They take up a little more space, but the material is considerably more luxurious than silicone. It protects your phone faithfully, and it is a more formal way to dress up your phone, though it fits into any casual environment, too. Many of the leather cases clip onto your belt, so it's a smart, simple, and safe way to transport your phone.

Holsters are another smart way to carry your phone. Because it clips onto your belt, it doesn't come in a wild variety of colours. This is more about carrying your phone smartly than dressing it up, but it's an efficient way to transport your phone because it allows you quick access on the go. Your phone can be rotated 90 degrees, so you can check it without taking it out of its holster. Stylistically speaking, people will hardly see anything but the phone, so it is more about function than showing off any distinct style. But still, it looks professional and sleek, and someone very well might still buy it for the way it looks.

As the cell phone has become used for too many reasons to name, they have come to look different too. In other words, the personalization of the device isn't only taking place at the level of functionality, but aesthetically too. Something so crucial to operating our daily lives must be protected with a case, and it's not surprising that so many stylistic options are available, running the gamut from kids to professionals, and allowing the user to bring some of himself to the look of the phone.

Why You Need a Mobile Phone Jammer

Mobile phones are very useful for communication but at times they become a big headache for us and we wish we could control its operation or avoid phone calls without switching it off so that the callers don't come to know that the receiver is trying to avoid their calls.

When we switch of the cell phone the caller comes to know the mobile has been switched off but we always wish that when we switch off the mobile, the caller should not know it is actually switched off to avoid calls.

The solution for this problem can be obtained by having a cell phone jammer. A jammer will allow you jam the frequency of your mobile service provider wherever you go and you won't ever have to switch your mobile phone to avoid calls and your caller will get automated voice message from their service provider that the receiver is out of coverage area.

Mobile phone jammer is very useful when you are driving on a busy highway so that you can concentrate on driving to avoid accident while talking on the mobile. It also helps when you are in a business meeting so that no one can disturb you. The jammer can also be very useful at home while sleeping or when you are in bath or toilet because in such situations you just can't pick a mobile and many people get irritated if an urgent call comes in that situation.

Mobile jammer is helpful many a times when you are in a party or a disco because in such situations you want to avoid and enjoy the moment without getting some stupid calls from your boss or from home calling you urgently back. There are many other times you could need a jammer, for example - when you are with you girlfriend and need privacy you would definitely like to stop your mobile phone from ringing.

Phone jammer are absolute necessity when you are at a prayer meeting at church and other holy places because it not only blocks the incoming call but also makes sure that caller does not come to know that the call is blocked purposely and they can call back once the call receiver is free from all the important engagements for which he/she had used phone jammer to block calls. Mobile jammer is necessary in places like hospitals and government buildings where mobile phone usage is more or less banned.

Cheap phones with the right features may be hard to find, but if you're really determined to get the best for cheap, you would definitely find exactly what you need.
If at all you want to quickly compare prices and get the best mobile phone, there are plenty of websites that would be able to help you out. But, to get the best - you need to know the best. Therefore, first you need to think about the features you wish to see in your phone. Never pay for something that you aren't going to use and see to it that your phone has everything that you're going to need.

Stick to your budget

We all know that we need to stick to a budget; but, when we shop for mobile phones we often come across situations wherein we see one that is simply - perfect! It is in such cases that we need to be careful as we easily get carried away and may spend an awful lot of cash on it.

When you check out reviews written by other people on a particular model you'd know exactly what problems you would face later on. Also, some people may tell you what to do to fix the problem. That's the reason you should always take a look at what other users have to say before you buy it yourself.

Factors that you need to consider when buying a mobile phone

There are plenty of factors that you need to consider before you pick up a cell phone, some of them include:

Decision making

Are you a person who texts more than they call or vice versa? If you're mainly going to be using the phone to make calls; then, any phone would work well as long as you've got connectivity in your area. But, when it comes to texting a few are easier to use than others, so you need to check them out well before deciding.

Extra functions

If you plan on using your phone for many other purposes such as listening to music or taking pictures or even to connect to the web, you should go ahead and buy one that has these gadgets and apps. In case of music a phone with lots of memory or at least the ability to add more would be the best buy.

Casual or business needs?

If you're going to be using your phone for business purposes you need to make sure that it is capable of receiving emails and handling documents. Because, when it comes to business needs there's nothing more important than handling work whilst you're on the move.

Once you've made up your mind in all these aspects, it would be easier for you to pick the right mobile phones.

Mobile Phones, are really useful and no matter where we go we're going to need them. It could be to keep in contact with family and friends as well as to fulfill business needs.

Portable Radio Hire or Mobile Phone Charges?

Communication has gone through different changes over the years. Many different ways of communication have been developed. A Radio could seem like an old technology, but over the years they have been used for many different purposes. Nowadays, you find a radio not only in the car, but also in households. A two-way portable radio is still widely being used for communication. For example, park rangers and the police use walkie-talkies to communicate with each other.

Portable radios can be used in many other work places. It is a good device for communication between employees, and can replace mobile phones in such situations. Over the years, mobile phone charges have increased. Companies have to pay large amounts because of the constant use of mobile phones. Due to this, companies have started to re-evaluate mobile phone usage and are trying to find the best economical device.

As a result, portable radios have started to come back into the picture Due to the inflow of many other devices that were claiming to make communication better portable hand held radios were side lined for a while. With a portable radio, you just have to buy or hire the radio and get a UHF/VHF license and you are set to go. No monthly or talk time charges are paid after this. Radio hire has become the standard for many security firms and event organizers where a good communication network is needed for a set contract.
Here are some of the main areas to consider before you buy or hire portable radio devices:
Range

Standard radios are available in high frequency, very high frequency and ultra high frequency ranges. You can set the frequency according to your workplace and the distance at which you will communicate. Authorized dealers can help you select which radio would be best for your work location.

Durability

The radios are usually designed to be durable. They will not break easily and communication will not be lost if you drop them accidentally. The radios are also designed to withstand extreme weather changes. Some radio models are designed to work under water for at least 30 minutes. For example, scuba divers or deep sea researchers can also use this device. Check for the Ingress Protection (IP) Rating when buying radios that can be used in wet conditions. Look for an IP 57 rating.

Battery Life

A regular battery can last for up to eight hours a day. If you use lithium ion batteries, then you will have a battery lasting up to twenty hours. Depending on the size of radios, batteries can last from up to a few hours to the whole day.

Do Cell Phones Cause Brain Cancer?

A part of me wishes we definitively knew the answer to this question simply to get people to refrain from talking on their cell phones while driving. Nothing is more frustrating on the road than seeing bad driving practices only to see the driver blabbing on a phone. In addition, we know that driving while talking on a mobile phone is equivalent to driving with an illegal blood alcohol level with regards to reaction time and focus on the road. People have been killed in car accidents by someone talking on a phone. I was in a car accident about 3 years ago when I was rear-ended by a woman talking on her cell phone. It is now illegal to talk on a cell phone while driving in California and other states are catching on as well. We also know that a headset or speaker phone does not reduce the risk of an accident. But I digress, we were supposed to be talking about brain cancer.

According to the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association Americans spent 2.2 trillion minutes on their cell phones in 2008 which was a 100 billion minute increase from the previous year. Cell phones are becoming more and more advanced in their capabilities and at the same time, increasing their radio frequency output. A few studies have shown an increase in brain tumors on the same side of the head where the user holds the phone, but other studies have shown no association.

A 2009 study looked at 23 studies of 38,000 people and found no connection between cell phone use and brain tumors. However, there was a subset analysis of eight studies which showed a 10-30% increase in the risk of tumors from long-term use compared to people who rarely used a cell phone.

The European Environment Agency has stepped up and warned against the use of mobile phones in children because they have their entire lives ahead of them with exposure to radio frequencies and radiation. John Bucher, the associate director of the National Toxicology Program, testified before the Senate's Health and Human Services Committee. He stated that cell phone radiation penetrates deeper into a child's brain because of the configuration of a young, growing skull.

Professor Lennart Hardell is a Swedish researcher who is at the leading edge of cell phone radiation and brain cancer risk research. He has found an increased risk of brain tumors from 10 or more years of mobile phone use. Several studies of his have been published with the following key findings:

  • For every 100 hours of cell phone use, the risk of brain cancer increases by 5%. For every year of use, the risk of brain cancer increases by 8%.
  • After 10 or more years of digital cell phone use, there was a 280% increased risk of brain cancer.
  • For digital cell phone users who were teenagers or younger when they first started using mobile phones, there was a 420% increased risk of brain cancer.
Why is there conflicting evidence? Is there special interest involved and who funded the studies in question? Dr. Hardell's research is very compelling and I tend to trust European studies over American studies because there is usually less of a money-trail in Europe. There is a lot of money to be made on cell phone use and we live in a country where the bottom line means everything.
In addition, why is it clearly stated in the fine print of cell phone manuals to use caution regarding radio frequencies and warnings about keeping the phone as far away from the body as possible? Radiation decreases as the square of the distance from the phone. The farther the phone is from your body, the less radiation exposure. One example is the Blackberry 8300 which clearly states: "When using any data feature of the Blackberry device, with or without a USB cable, keep the device at least.98 inches from your body and it should not be worn or carried on the body." This is clear enough for me that the cell phone manufacturers know the potential dangers of radiation.
Dr. Devra Lee Davis is the director of the Center for Environmental Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute and author of the book Disconnect: The Truth About Cell Phone Radiation, What the Industry Has Done to Hide it, and How to Protect Your Family. She has testified before congress about this subject and has published numerous articles as well. She recommends the following to reduce your risk:
  • Put your phone in the "flight" or "off-line" mode when carrying, storing, or charging it.  This stops the electromagnetic emissions.

  • Avoid carrying your cell phone on your body or storing it near your body at night.

  • Use a wired headset (not Bluetooth!) or the speaker-phone mode to keep the phone as far from your body as possible while talking.

  • Switch sides of your head regularly while talking.

  • Use text messaging instead of talking.

  • Choose a device with the lowest SAR possible.  SAR stands for specific absorption rate, a measure of the strength of electromagnetic fields.

  • Children should only use cell phones near their heads for emergencies.  Texting away from the body is safer for children than talking on a cell phone.

  • Avoid using the phone while the signal is weak or when moving at high speeds as in a car or train.  This increases the power to the phone as it tries to stay connected.
Until more research is done that is not funded by the phone industry I will treat this as if cell phone radiation is in fact detrimental to my health. It is better to be safe than sorry and the studies that show an increased risk of brain tumors are simply too compelling to ignore. Use the simple steps outlined in this article and choose a phone with a low SAR to protect yourself from potential damage.

Cell Phone Etiquette 101

Nowadays, our cell phones have become an indispensable part of our modern lives. People of different age brackets and professions have found the immense capabilities of the cell phone and they can't seem to get enough of the wonderful gizmo. But with its presence, we might find ourselves in certain situations in which we can become insensitive or inconsiderate of other people. (In which case, it is better to sell used cell phones now!)

I know certain values and etiquette vary across cultures, and cell phone etiquette is arbitrarily perceived by people of different social and economic groups. However, some of the rules are universal, especially those codes that require common sense, sensibility for others, and respect.

When you are using your mobile phone, here are some general principles you need to keep in mind:

Public and Private Use of Cell Phones

Normally, cell phone etiquette is strictly observed when you are in a public space. Definitely, a loud talker can disturb or distract a lot of people in the area. These rules also apply to situations when you are having a date or a private conversation with someone. Some people find it rude when you are on a romantic date and you just stand up to answer an incoming call from your boss or your friend. Not that you should always screen calls. Again, the key here is courtesy and respect to the person you are presently with. Otherwise, I suggest you just sell cell phones online for cash.

Do not make or take a call in the middle of the conversation. If the caller were present, I bet he or she would be polite enough to wait for your availability provided that the person is also adherent to the same values we are promoting here. That means, by screening the call, you are sending the message that you are currently in a situation where taking the call is either disrespectful or inconsiderate.

Focus on the Call - NOT!

Restaurants, waiting rooms, and subways are not ideal settings for taking a call. They are bad for casual conversations on both ends: People do not want to hear personal conversations on the phone and I guess you do not want to entertain someone in noisy places as such.

Also, it is a poor habit to talk on your phone while dealing with cashiers and customer service people. Before taking your turn in the check-out lane, make sure you hang up the call so that you can attend to your supermarket items.

And one of the most egregious types of setting where you will take a call is when you are driving inside your car. Although it is a private place, and no one will take offense of the incoming call, it is still a bad habit that can lead to accidents or even fatalities. A lot of police reports have pointed to the act as the cause of driving mishaps: Do not challenge that notion anymore.

If your gadget will be the source of your bad luck, I suggest you sell cell phones and get cold hard cash for it!

Reasons to Sign Up for Corporate Cell Phone Plans

While many companies have embraced mobile phones, signing up for business cell phone plans and distributing mobile devices to workers, others have not yet made the move. Perhaps they are hesitant to take on the additional expense or maybe they are worried that employees will abuse the privilege. Regardless of their reason for holding out, they may want to learn more about how a corporate mobile phone plan could be beneficial.

How Business Cell Phone Plans Benefit Employees

Executives and salespeople frequently travel on company business. They may cater to a local, regional, national, or international customer base, causing them to be in the car or on a bus, train, or airplane more often than they are in the office. Without a mobile phone, they are not easily reachable to handle emergencies, provide customer service, or run the business. Co-workers and customers demand a fast response and if the salesperson or executive has a business cell phone, this is possible.

Service companies have fleets of employees on the road visiting customer locations throughout the day. Providing these workers with phones especially smart phones, enables dispatchers to update them with scheduling updates. It also lets mobile service workers report on delays due to unplanned additional repairs or inclement weather. By staying in communication, these two parties are able to improve productivity and handle unexpected situations without major business disruption.

Employees who provide tech support may require information from a co-worker or the office while at client sites. With a mobile phone, they can quickly get what they need and get back to work. They can even use a smartphone to order parts or software online or through the company inventory system. This reduces the time it takes to complete each appointment, getting clients operational more quickly.

Ways Corporate Cell Phone Plans Benefit the Bottom Line

When workers are more productive, the company earns more for every hour of their time. Many companies experience revenue increases shortly after distributing cell phones to workers for business use. Workers can make calls from anywhere throughout the day, handling business that previously had to wait until they returned to the office. They can use data service to do online research required to update proposals and can email the revised proposals directly from their phones.

When workers are provided company mobile phones, they have the opportunity to work from home or on the road if necessary. They may continue a conference call on speakerphone during the ride home from work, wrapping up a major deal. Others use the bus or train commute to review and respond to business emails before they arrive at the office, allowing them to hit the ground running. Business cell phones can also be used to place workers on-call for emergencies after hours.

Companies that provide mobile phones to their workers are helping to enhance relationships with co-workers, prospects, and clients. Employees are easier to reach, increasing the chances of communication when it is desired. Talking in person rather than to a voicemail box increases the level of trust in these relationships.

NFC In Your Mobile Phone - Is It Really Good?

The buzz of NFC is actually not something very new and advance technology but an evolution of the radio-frequency identification technology which has been getting lots of popularity in the mobile technology industry.

At present we can find NFC technology being already used in London Underground's Oyster card and Delhi's Metro card where the travelers tap their card on pad placed at entry and exit door to pay for their journey.

The great thing about NFC is not such that it enables us carry put financial transactions, but it can do lots more than that. "Sharing", "pairing" and "transactions" are three different unique features of NFC.

Although NFC is slower than Bluetooth and has a much more limited range, it consumes less power. There are also no set-up passwords or codes required, as there is with Bluetooth and secure Wi-Fi. Because of this, one of the possibilities for NFC use is as a way for devices to 'handshake' as a way of accepting another type of connection. They would just need to be placed close enough for the NFC to register first, but could then be moved away to normal Bluetooth distances once the connection was established.

All of these extended uses for NFC could be very useful, but contactless payment is what is really hitting the headlines.

By incorporating NFC in debit cards, the technology has ensured its wide distribution of the technology. When you pay with a phone, you could not only pay, but receive plenty of information digitally in return like coupons, receipts, loyalty points and warranty programs which could save your time, and your retailers money and resources.

There have been concerns that NFC would be vulnerable and face major security threats but in actual NFC integrated into phones could offer greater security. The short-range nature of NFC needs an effective touch against whatever the device holds the information. There is a £15 transaction limit, which means that a thief could not simply empty your account in one go.

While transaction, PIN to be entered and if your card is used several times in a row. To a degree, NFC could be considered a dumb connection, and the security needs to be integrated into the software that surrounds it.

The usual fraud cover that is offered by other payment systems is also in place, meaning that you will not be liable for any fraudulent transaction provided you have acted with reasonable care.

Today, if you lose your phone, not only might you have password protection on it, but also the operator can turn it off instantly. So you have double protection if you have a phone with a payment application on it.

Certainly, it would be a boon for consumers if the technology did prove to be more secure in the long run, as well as convenient. When it comes to introducing a new payment technology, it is likely that NFC mobile payment technology will find its way into your pocket before too long, one way or another.

Android phones provide an affordable platform for downloading tools and applications from the internet at free of cost. One doesn't need to pay for applications that are offered by android and can be downloaded without paying anything extra. Rugged Mobile Phones

Mobile phones have become an essential tool in our social life and are even more important in our work life. Today's companies depend on communications to provide their customers with the best service and modern consumers expect instant answers to their queries. Email is just as important as voice now and having access to the internet at all times is imperative for most people.

Technology has certainly moved on a long way in the last 10 years and mobile phone and internet devices are readily available and they work extremely well. Most people have email on the go now as well as internet and the days of the mobile phone with just calls and texts are virtually gone.

As we become more reliant on this type of instant service it seems to be a major problem when our phone develops a fault or if we break it. The new smart phones have much bigger screens now which make them much easier to break.

Many of the phone manufacturers are trying to make more robust phones and most are using a hardened type of glass called gorilla glass. This has helped and for most users this is enough protection for their phone. For those how are hard on their phones including manual or construction workers, something a lot stronger is required. They need a phone that is waterproof, dustproof and waterproof and producing this type of phone presents quite a problem for manufacturers.

Many different companies have tried to produce this type of rugged phone but really only Samsung and JCB have made anything that is up to the job. Samsung were the first to market and they continue to make a small range of rugged phones that I would consider to be pretty good. JCB have taken the task one step further by producing a full range of this type of phone including the first ever phone that actually floats.

The JCB range extends to 8 models, all of which have military specifications on water and dust proofing. They have also gone to extra mile and teamed up with Motorola to produce a full android model that can be used for email and internet access.

The full range consists of:-
JCB Tradesman
JCB Sitemaster
Motorola Defy (JCB Edition)
JCB Pro Talk
JCB Sitemaster 2
JCB Sitemaster 2 3g
JCB Pro Smart

This range covers nearly all needs and the phones are a reasonable price. They also have a great 2 year warranty which is pretty good considering the market they are aiming at.

I have been in the mobile phone market for around 15 years and I would have no hesitation in recommending either the Samsung or JCB range of phones to any user who works in a harsh or wet environment.

Mobile Tapping - Easily Tap Any Mobile Phone

If you want to do some mobile tapping then this article is just for you. I'm going to go over how you can go about covertly mobile tapping a phone so that you can see everything it is doing. This is becoming increasingly easy as the technology improves. With some good technology you can easily see where the phone is via GPS data, and what the phone is doing (like call logs, contact information, text messages, etc.) So let's get into it below and find out how you can begin tapping a phone.

How Do Mobile Tapping Programs Work?

There are physical programs and software based ones. I always recommend that you go with the latter because they're easier to use and are much more dependable. The way that it works is simple: you put the program on the phone, and then it will relay all the information back to you via the internet. You will see where they are (GPS data) streaming in, and you can literally see them on a map. The other stuff is easily accessed through the program and you can "explore" the phone and see all the logs, including all messaging that they sent and received and phone calls made.

Which Mobile Tapping Software to Use?

Don't buy anything that needs to be shipped to you on CDs. The reason why is because you will probably have to update the software anyway - so you may as well get the software now instantly by downloading it. That way you can be sure it is updated to the newest version. If you use a bad version on a phone it can potentially mess up the phone and/or just not work (or it can show up on the person's phone, which will catch you and cause a lot of embarrassment.)

Cell Phones in Schools - The Great Debate

With today's technological advances making cell phones pervasive into nearly every aspect of people's lives, it comes as no surprise that cell phones in schools have become a hotly debated topic. There are advocates on both sides: some claim that cell phones are an inappropriate distraction during school hours, others embrace students' familiarity with them and utilize them in class. While the jury is still out, both sides do have some intriguing points.

Mobile phone advocates claim many benefits to using the devices in educational settings; some of these advantages include:

  • Parental Involvement. Students can use cellular phones equipped with cameras to take pictures of projects they complete in class, such as group projects that utilize only class time. Generally, in these situations, students do not conduct any research or assembly of such projects at home, so parents do not get to see the result of their child's efforts in the classroom. Allowing students to use cell phones in this capacity encourages parental involvement in their child's life, as well as supporting their educational development.

  • Missing Assignments. Teachers can enact a buddy system in which students email or text each other with the details of assignments their buddy missed due to an absence. This will save teachers valuable time they would have otherwise spent assembling makeup packets, and will instill a sense of responsibility among students for themselves and each other.

  • Note-Taking. Students that have problems keeping up in class when taking notes can utilize the camera feature of their mobile phone to snap photos of the notes and save them for later studying and showing parents or tutors, as well as classmates who may have missed part of them. Teachers can also incorporate taking photos of notes into their buddy system for missing assignments, and allow students to forward missed information during class time to absent classmates, and likewise allow them to receive such information if they are absent.

  • Real-World Tools. Cell phones usually have features such as calculators, which most high school math classes require. Using the calculator function of their cell phone can teach students the real-world skill of utilizing what they have on hand to calculate mathematical problems in their everyday lives.

  • Improving Focus. Students with cell phones that feature music capabilities and ear buds can use them during homework periods or times of otherwise independent study. Many students find listening to music a relaxing study habit and studies of learning styles indicate that some students learn best while listening to music while working problems or reading. Students who are comfortable while studying are more likely to study longer, more often, and produce more positive results than those who do not listen to music.
On the other hand, many believe that cell phones will only contribute to already existing problems in schools, such as cheating, disrespecting teachers and staff, and instigating trouble amongst other students; some even cite the possibility of utilizing cell phones for illegal activities during school.
  • Cheating. Using a cell phone, regardless of the age of the user or the location from which they use the phone, comes with responsibility. Some advocates of banning cell phones in schools state that utilizing the camera function of a cell phone enables students to cheat on tests by snapping photos of answer keys, test contents, or the answers on a neighbor's paper.

  • Disrespect. Students could use their phones for all sorts of mischief in class, including using the audio recording function of them to record teachers or other staff during lectures or other conversations without them being aware of the recording. Students could then use those recordings to take the speaker's words out of context and present them in a manipulative light.

  • Instigating Trouble. Students can use their cell phones during school to cause problems amongst students and bully others. School-related violence and cases of bullying are on the rise, and officials already have their hands full dealing with problematic students and keeping order in their institutions; allowing students to use devices such as cell phones during school hours will make such problems easier to perpetrate and harder to control.

  • Illegal Activities. Students can use cell phones during school to carry out illicit activities such as placing or taking orders for drug deals, provoking students to fight each other, take and place bets on sporting events or other forms of gambling, or planning events such as bomb threats and other security breaches.

  • Distraction. Almost all of those in favor of banning cell phones from schools say that allowing their use in class will distract students from their studies. Features such as internet access and video gaming capabilities are the most frequently cited as the biggest distractions. While the internet can provide legitimate researching capabilities, playing video games provides no educational benefit at all.
Today there are schools making use of both policies. Pasco County's Wiregrass Ranch High School utilizes mobile phones in many of its classes, including English, math, and social studies. Teachers allow students to use their phones to research literature and authors, calculate math problems, and take pictures for class projects, among other tactics. Students in this district say that they feel more respected and trust than students in districts who do not have such a privilege, and acknowledge that the devices can help them learn more about their world, both past and present. Regarding the area of behavior management, teachers in the school no longer must battle students on a daily basis to put their phones away or to pay attention during class. Instead, they are integrating cell phone usage into their lesson plans and students are participating during class more and benefiting. Students can take care of their personal business on their cell phones before and after school as well as during lunch and passing periods, so personal distractions really are a non-issue. Administrators acknowledge that some students will and do abuse the privilege. Rules, such as use restrictions and removal of other non-cell phone related privileges, are in place to discourage would-be goof-offers.

Most schools throughout the country instate some type of cell phone ban in their districts, mostly due to their connections to illegal activity and their disruptions during class. Some cite security issues, stating that ready student access to cell phones while on campus does not make them safer in the event of a violent event, even going so far as to state that they can complicate the jobs of emergency responders in such an instance. These schools also say that ready access to cell phones during the school day only inflames rumors and worsens bullying situations among students. As such, many of them enforce a "we see it, we take it" policy, and notify students as well as parents of the strict nature of such policies.

Some schools have begun to relax their mobile phone policies while others continue to uphold their bans, even tightening up their rules prohibiting the presence and usage of cell phones while on campus. Both sides have their own clear reasons for keeping their courses of action, and only time will tell as to which theory is more successful in educating students.
